People are being told to expect snow as more wintry weather is forecast for the area.

A yellow weather warning for snow and ice has been issued by the Met Office, lasting from Saturday (February 6) until Monday (February 8).

The forecaster says that cold conditions will persist through the weekend and into the following week, with snow also expected on Tuesday.

People have been warned that travel - which is only permitted if it is essential - may be more hazardous and take longer, and rural communities could be cut off.

There is also a small chance that power cuts will occur and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected.
