Welland Valley Art Society opens Spring exhibition at Stamford Arts Centre




Members of Welland Valley Art Society were delighted to welcome deputy mayor of Stamford Breda-Rae Griffin as guest of honour at the preview of their Spring Exhibition on Sunday.

Accompanied by her consort, CounMike Exton, Coun Griffin paid compliment to the high standard and variety of the artwork on show and she presented prizes to the exhibition prize winners. Winner of the overall exhibition prize, the Gladys Teesdale award, was Judy Merriman for her oil painting ‘Blue Still Life’. The guest judge for the exhibition was Robert Fogell, sculptor and owner of the Robert Fogell Gallery, in High Street St Martin’s, Stamford.

The Spring Exhibition is now open in the gallery at Stamford Arts Centre until Saturday, May 11. The vast majority of works are for sale and entry to the exhibition is free.
