Work set to start on new Stamford Aldi store in February

Work will start in February on building a new £5m Aldi store in Stamford.

The supermarket's plans to build a new store in Uffington Road, Stamford were u nanimously approved by South Kesteven District Council’s planning committee at the end of last month, with all 12 members of the group voting in favour, to bring the award-winning discount food retailer to Stamford.

The scheme had attracted a high level of local support during Aldi’s public consultation with around 64 per cent of Stamford respondents supporting a new Aldi in the town. Up to 50 new jobs will be created for people in the area, help retain local spend and provide an investment boost to the economy of more than £5m.
