Met Office weather warning as Storm Brendan hits Rutland, Stamford, Bourne and the Deepings




A weather warning for high winds is in place for Rutland, Stamford, Bourne and the Deepings today (Tuesday, January 14).

The Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for much of the country as Storm Brendan looks set to bring rain and gusts of up to 50mph this afternoon.

Drivers are warned to anticipate disruptions on some roads and to rail services.

Experts say that some short term loss of power and other services is possible.

The strong winds are expected to last from midday until just before midnight.
