Witness appeal after man dies following crash on A15 near Bourne

Wednesday, 4.30pm: Police have appealed for witnesses after a man died following a road accident.

Two cars collided near the Elsea Park roundabout on the A15 in Bourne at 12.20pm yesterday (Monday). A white Kia Picanto and a Mitsubishi L200 were involved.

The driver of the Picanto, named locally as Market Deeping town and South Kesteven District councillor Reg Howard, 93, was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham, where he later died. Nobody else was injured.

Roads around the roundabout were closed for several hours and reopened shortly after 5.30pm.

A police spokesman said: “We would like to hear from anyone who has not already been spoken to or has not yet been in touch who either saw the vehicles involved prior to the collision or witnessed it taking place.”
