Woman left trapped after car hits tree and ends up in flooded field in Lyddington in Rutland

A woman was left trapped after her car hit a tree and ended up in a flooded field.

The incident happened at about 1.30pm today (Tuesday, February 18) in Gretton Road, Lyddington.

Fire crews from Uppingham and Corby were called by East Midlands Ambulance Service paramedics who couldn't get to the car because it was in a water logged field of about six inches of water.

Fire crews managed to get the woman out of the car and she was taken to Peterborough City Hospital.
