LEARN MOREFootballers from a local women’s club were at Wembley Stadium on Sunday to see England end its 56-year wait for a major football trophy.
A six-strong contingent from Ketton Ladies, including manager Dave Walpole, were among the lucky few to claim the golden tickets for the Women’s European Championship final.
They saw England Lionesses beat Germany 2-1 after extra time and lift their first international trophy - and the nation’s first since the men’s side lifted the World Cup in 1966.
