A DEVELOPMENT project to transform Bourne Corn Exchange into a one-stop-shop for council and community services started yesterday (Monday).
Work commenced at the Abbey Road end of the exchange, with structural changes due to take place in the next few weeks.
The project will bring a range of council services under one roof, including the library, the county, district and town council offices and the Citizens Advice Bureau, as well as function rooms.
Leader of the district council Linda Neal (Con) said: “We have started the works on schedule and this is the beginning of what I believe is a great project for Bourne.
“Once works have been completed residents will be able to access town, district and county council services all under one roof in the heart of the town.”
See Friday’s paper for more details.
