Workers set to bike round Rutland Water to boost children's charity
Workers at a Bourne company are getting on their bikes to throw their weight behind a vital children's health charity.
Some 22 staff at Noble Interiors in Cherry Holt Road are set to brave torrential rain and high winds to pedal up to a lung-busting 23 miles round challenging Rutland Water tomorrow.
They are aiming to raise at least £2000 for the Children's Liver Disease Foundation.
Virginia Moran, an administrator at the interior and shopfitting specialists, said: "The weather looks like it's going to be terrible!
"But we're a brave bunch and our people can't wait to get out there."
She said they'll all be meeting up in Normanton car park at 9am before heading off around the stunning reservoir and tackling the gruelling course.
"I'm not doing it because I'm sorting everything else out but nearly all of our staff will be out there braving the elements so it's a fantastic effort," said Virginia.
"We're actually closing our office for the day tomorrow.
"The daughters of one of our directors had a liver transplant when she was just a tiny baby so this means a lot to us all.
"So we've decided to do the ride and help support the Children's Liver Disease Foundation as it's such an excellent cause.
"Our company is donating £50 for every member of staff taking part in this challenge.
"And our suppliers have rallied round too and already stumped up £400 so we're hoping to top £2000 - the more the merrier."
