Catmose College in Oakham hosts delayed World Book Day

More news, no ads

Catmose College in Oakham wanted pupils to have the opportunity to take part in the fun of World Book Day so chose to hold it a week later, which proved to be a great decision.

Back together with their friends after weeks apart during lockdown, pupils took advantage to get creative and dress up. There were some fantastic costumes from Oliver Twist to The Handmaid’s Tale, Beatrix Potter to Jurassic Park, Mary Poppins and Dr Who. Masks were no problem – thought had been put into matching them with their outfit with some imaginative alternatives.

Pupils at Catmose Primary were in for a treat with a “book hunt” to find letters that would form a quote from Matilda, and the author Jason Beresford set fun challenges for each class and listened to their own stories. It was a great day all round!
