Peterborough’s Willow Festival organisers have joined forces with The X Factor and Argo Lounge in the city centre to produce a high quality event for those who wish to audition for the ITV talent show.

Auditions will take place on Wednesday, March 9, from 7pm when The Willow Festival Open Mic organisers will be transforming Argo Lounge on Bridge Street into a live performance venue.

Staging, lighting and state of the art sound system will be installed to give the artists the very best opportunity to showcase themselves in front of the X Factor talent scouts, who will be filming the event in order to present the acts to the producers back at Thames Television studios.

The Willow Festival organiser Mark Ringer says: “ We produced this event last year for the X Factor show, and it was great success. We’re delighted to have been asked to do it again. The quality of the performers last year was very impressive indeed and looking at the response to date, we are expecting another great show.”

The Willow Festival team chose the Argo Lounge as the venue due to its natural and welcoming atmosphere, central city location and the ability to wine and dine those who visit the event. Organisers wanted a cabaret feel to the show and Argo Lounge was deemed an ideal choice to achieve that.

The event is free entry for the public and Argo Lounge will be providing a normal dining service during the evening.

For those who would like to audition, contact Mark on 01733 751864 or email info@willowfestival.org.uk

Earlier in the day Queensgate Shopping Centre will be hosting its own X Factor audition event, from 9am to 5.30pm.
