Young golfers in 24-hour golf match to raise money in aid of the Seve Ballesteros Foundation

THREE young golfers have set themselves a marathon golf challenge to raise funds for charity.

Ryan Tarrant, 17, and Dan Carr, 15, both from Stamford, and Chris Cooper, 18, from Louth, have organised a 24-hour golf match at Greetham Valley Hotel, Golf and Conference Centre in aid of the Seve Ballesteros Foundation, which raises funds for brain cancer research. Spanish golf legend Seve Ballesteros died last year after a long battle with a brain tumour.

Last year, the trio played four rounds of golf in a day for Macmillan Cancer Support, but Ryan, who lives in Banks Crescent, admits this challenge will be tougher. He said: “It’s going to be tiring but it’s all for a great cause so we’ll do it. It will be hard through the night but I’d like to finish with a par on the last hole.”

The event starts on Thursday at 8pm. To sponsor the trio, visit
