An 18-year-old who graduated from a Rutland team of a national voluntary programme is calling on young people in the county to sign up to the scheme and help make a difference.

Kelly Davies, who lives in Melton, is urging people to join this year’s National Citizen Service programme, a government initiate that provides young people with the opportunity to take on challenges, experience new activities, make friends and develop new skills.

The four-week programme included a range of team building activities such as archery and raft building.

Kelly said: “I definitely recommend the programme, especially those interested in meeting people from different walks of life and trying something new.”

Lincolnshire and Rutland Education Business Partnership has been selected to run this year’s programme in the region. To register, visit
