YOUNGSTERS have celebrated the 300th anniversary of their school with a party.
Pupils at Elton Primary School marked the milestone occasion with a cake, a trip to the cinema and parties in their classrooms. The children also took home a party bag.
Headteacher Rebecca Richards said: “The children had a really exciting time and there was a lovely atmosphere in school all day.”
Miss Richards said the children had studied the history of the school last year in preparation for the anniversary and had even taken part in an archaelogical dig and opened a temporary museum in the school.
The school has also researched restoring an old bell to ring it for the occasion but the cost was prohibitive.
