Letter: Reservations on a one-way system

Have your say

In reply to Stephen Morgan’s letter of May 9. A one-way system for Kings Road would be alright if it wasn’t for the huge articulated lorries that now enter Kings Road at the south end to deliver to the new Co-op.

Every day 1, 2, 3 and 4 lorries use this road, and no way could they go down Kings Road to Cold Overton Road without scratching cars parked on each side of the road, or enter Cold Overton Road without causing chaos with all the traffic which now uses that road, travelling up and down to all the new houses recently built further up. I remember when Kings Road was a dead-end from Cold Overton Road until it was opened up and made a through road called Kings Road South. An alternative would be to have a one-way system on the original Kings Road (helping all the residents) and a two-way on Kings Road South enabling lorries to deliver to the Co-op.
