Cambs Minor Counties star Rob Woolley took centre stage with a superb Cambs Division One ton for Ketton at home to March on Saturday.

Struggling March looked to have got themselves into a winning position by posting an impressive team total of 256 at Pit Lane. Kiwi Ash Vodnala (101) cracked his first century at this level and was well supported by David Hodson (69) and Ben Pyle (58).

Woolley actually claimed 4-56 in the March innings, but he really excelled with the bat scorching to 146 not out from the opener’s position to see Ketton home by six wickets with four balls to spare.

Woolley hit 17 fours and a six with Matt Milner offering most support with 38 in a third wicket stand of 109.

Godmanchester are just two points behind top of the table Wisbech in second spot after coming through a tricky game against Nassington by 21 runs.

Ryan Duffy (3-23) was Nassington’s top bowler as the home side closed on 199-9, but none of the Nassington top order could support Tom Norman (45) in reply. Captain Alex Laud made 35 batting at number 10 as Nassington fell just short.
