Bourne Grammar School pupil Jasmine Allen has jumped over five metres in the long jump for the first time to be crowned Junior Girls Anglian Schools Champion.

Seven Bourne Grammar athletes represented Lincolnshire in Norwich at the weekend at the Anglian Schools Championships. This Inter Counties match is against the top two performers in each event from Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk.

Allen produced her best long jump performance of the season to become champion, improving her own school record with a leap of 5.02m and she still has another year in this age group.

In the junior girls 4x100m relay, Allen gave the team an excellent start on the first leg and Lincolnshire were the clear winners.

Podium finishes were also achieved by Tom Lavender with bronze in the Junior Boys 80m Hurdles in 13.4s and by Billy Mugnier in the Senior Boys 3000m, in 10:11.9.

In the Inter Boys age group, Reid Davidson found himself in a very fast 200m race and ran strongly to finish fourth in 24.1 seconds and Scott Buxton was also fourth with 1.60m in the high jump.

In the throws, Millie Bristow finished 5th in the Inter Girls Javelin with 23.54m and Chloe Ladley gained valuable experience in the Junior Girls shot with a put of 8.04m.
