Market Deeping all-rounder Nick Andrews bagged a five-wicket haul for England yesterday (June 7).

Andrews was playing for England Over 60s against Scotland in Stenhousemuir. He returned figures of 5-26 from 10 overs as England bowled Scotland out for 132 to complete a 46-run win after the hosts had reached 80-3. Andrews dismissed both of the Scotland dangermen,

Andrews, who lives in Werrington, Peterborough, made nine of England’s 178-7.

Andrews had to decline an invitation to skipper England in the first Ashes match against Australia at Halsted later this month, but had to decline because of family commitments.

He will play in the third Ashes game, a two-day Test at Sunbury CC, Middlesex on July 2/3.
