Athletes from Bourne help lift Nene to sixth

Nene Valley Harriers, featuring more than 20 athletes from the Bourne area finished second at Bedford in the fourth round of the Eastern Young Athletes League.

The result leaves the club sixth overall with one match to go.

Will Baker produced personal bests at 300m, 800m and high jump. Reid Davidson had a personal best in the 200m as did Megan Pusey and Jasmine Allan.

Amy Gibbons and Alice Callcutt ran pbs in the 300m, and Cameron Marshall ran his fastest ever times in the 400m and 800m. There were more personal bests for Michael and Zoe Cawood, Emily Brand and Austin Herbert in the 1,500m, Beth Denial in the 75m hurdles, Jonathon Woodcock in the high jump and Alice Gibbons in the hammer.

The final match in the series will be at Peterborough on Sunday. The meeting starts at 11.45 with free admission so come along to support Bourne’s young stars.
