Stamford Rugby Club stage touch rugby tournament

More news, no ads

Competitive action returned to Hambleton Road on Friday evening when Stamford hosted the 2021 touch rugby tournament.

With 10 teams and more than 100 players attending, there was plenty of fast-paced and entertaining rugby on show.

The social form of rugby consists of two seven minute halves and all of the teams were a mixture of the sexes with a few juniors thrown in to assist the more mature hardened rugby players.

The tournament was eventually won by Stamford Colts who narrowly beat McHughs Marauders in the final thanks to tries from Ciaran Dolby and Freya Smith.

Anyone interested in joining the touch rugby sessions, they are held every Monday evening at Stamford Rugby Club. For further information please contact play@stamfordrugby.com
