Bourne made it back-to-back wins as Spalding suffered a second successive reversal in Saturday's Lincolnshire Premier League derby at the Abbey Lawn.

The hosts scored more than 300 runs to continue their strong start to the defence of their title against newly-promoted Spalding who were bowled out for 155 in their reply.

Bourne had elected to bat first as they looked to build on last week's opening day victory at Louth.

Openers Sam Evison and Jordan Temple got them off to a solid start with a half-century first wicket partnership.

Josh Lawrence made the first breakthrough when he had Temple caught by Ethan Lawrence for 19 with the home total of 54.

New signing Jonny Cheer then joined Evison at the crease and the runs continued to flow for the home side.

They took Bourne past the century mark until Evison was stumped by Ethan Lawrence off Harry DeCamps for 61 which included nine runs and a six.

There was no respite for Spalding though as Pete Morgan came to the crease and put the visiting attack to the sword.

Morgan made an unbeaten 121 off just 77 deliveries as he blasted 11 fours and seven sixes in a 183-run third wicket stand with Cheer.

It was eventually broken when Cheer was caught by Nilantha Atapattu off Josh Lawrence for an 83-ball innings of 88 which featured 11 fours and two sixes.

Morgan and Rob Bentley then took Bourne past the 300-run mark as they closed their 50 overs on 307-3.

Spalding were always going to struggle to chase down such a daunting total as they soon slumped to 20-2.

Wickets then fell at a regular rate as Brandon Diplock produced a fine spell of 5-22 from 10 overs while Bentley and Freddie Arlott both claimed two wickets apiece.

Spalding opener Jon Manton offered strong resistance to the Bourne attack by hitting 10 boundaries in his 77 while Matt Gill chipped in with 21.

Manton was the final wicket to fall when he was caught by home skipper Courtney Kruger off the bowling of Dan Bandaranaike as Spalding were bowled out for 155.

Both teams are on their travels this weekend with Bourne visiting Lindum on Saturday while Spalding make the trip to Louth.

Market Deeping are still seeking their first win of the season after a heavy nine-wicket away defeat at Woodhall Spa on Saturday.

Openers Josh Smith (31) and Connor Gillett (29) had made a 48-run opening partnership while Ashar Hafeez (17) had helped take Deeping to 87-3.

However, they lost their next seven wickets for just 32 runs as Nottinghamshire ace Matt Carter claimed 4-14 from a strong 8.5 over spell for Spa.

New signing Will Naylor then made a dream start to the Spa reply when he bowled opener Oliver Caswell with the first ball of the home innings.

However, it was the only wicket to fall as the hosts needed less than 30 overs to knock off the required runs with Will Wright and Gareth Grant both hitting unbeaten half-centuries.
