Opening skipper Jamie Dumford made just 7 runs but Martin Bennett (84) was then joined by Jamie Richardson (72) and the pair batted superbly with Bennett for a partnership of 146 runs.

Mark Cox followed with 25, Alex Ashwin with 38 and Joss Rawlings 22, as Uppingham posted a final score of 275 for 8. Damien Conyard (3 for 47) and Adam Somerfield (2 for 41) were the pick of the Isham bowlers.

Isham’s Aussie opener Adam Somerfield was sent packing for 6 and he was quickly followed by Drupad Parmar (4) as the visitors struggled against the fast, accurate bowling of Max Collins (1 for 24) and Alex Ashwin (2 for 19).

Skipper Elliott Leach top-scored with 44 runs at number five as the Isham middle order made a fight of the match. Ryan Conyard and Damien Conyard both added 21 and Dean Adam 26 to push the score on to 164 runs for 8 but Isham, who were always behind the run rate, finally collapsed on 184.

All six Uppingham bowlers performed well with Ashwin (2 for 19) Scott Green (2 for 22) and Mark Cox (3 for 23) returning the best figures.

Once again Uppingham’s fielding and bowling proved too strong for their opposition after Bennett had again formed the backbone of the Uppingham batting.

Uppingham play Oundle in the semi-final on July 28.
