Bourne Cricket Club’s young star Joey Evison was the big winner from the junior section at the Lincolnshire Cricket Board’s annual prizegiving in Lincoln
He picked up the batting awards for both the U13 and U14 section.
Joey has scored 1,010 runs for Lincolnshire U13s and U14s this season at an average of 78. Scores over 50 this season for Lincolnshire included 131 not out against Derbyshire U14s and 129 not out against Suffolk U13s
Joey has also been seen playing senior cricket this season where his success has continued.
This summer Joey became Bourne’s youngest Rutland League centurion with a knock of 101 not out for Bourne Thirds against Long Sutton Seconds.
He also scored two South Lincs and Border Premier League 50s for Bourne CC Seconds, hitting 64 not out v Long Sutton Firsts and 55 against Stamford Town Firsts.
The future looks incredibly bright for the Bourne youngster and this year he became youngest ever first team cricketer at Stamford School (13 years 5 months) breaking the record of former England Captain MJK Smith
Joey was named The Cricketer Magazine Player of the Month for August this year.
He’s now part of the Nottinghamshire CCC Emerging Player Programme.
