Bourne are through to Winkworth Cup finals day after seeing off two local rivals at the Abbey Lawns yesterday (May 4).
Bourne beat Spalding by a massive 171 runs and then Market Deeping by 19 runs to top their group in a Twenty/20 competition for Lincs Premier Division sides.
Captain Peter Morgan struck 75 of Bourne’s 233-4 against Spalding before Conrad Louth hammered 76 against a young Deeping side.
Carl Wilson finished unbeaten on 42 as Bourne closed on 140-3 against Deeping for whom Patrick Brown, Nick Green, Josh Smith and Jackson Andrews all bowled well.
Deeping skipper Dave Gillett finished unbeaten on 58 as his side reached 121-4 in reply. Bourne’s spin bowlers Tom Dixon, Sam Evison and Ben Stroud.
Deeping had beaten Spalding by 48 runs in their opening game with Dave Sargeant top scoring on 51.
Bourne now travel to Sleaford for finals day on Monday. May 25. They will tackle Grantham in their semi-final. It’s Lincoln v Skegness in the second semi-final with the overall winners moving through to the first National round.
