Bourne Town were knocked out of the Hinchingbrooke Cup in the quarter-finals last night (Tuesday) after losing 2-0 away to higher division Yaxley.

The Cuckoos scored a goal in both halves to book a trip to local rivals Peterborough Northern Star in the semi-finals.

Yaxley, who play one division higher than the Wakes in the UCL Premier, opened the scoring through Scott Carter in the 18th minute.

Bourne had won four UCL Division One games in a row coming into the game and were boosted by the return of Dan Wilson and Dan Smith but they could not make a break-through.

Dan Cotton sealed the result for Yaxley twelve minutes from time.

Deeping Rangers have already booked their place in the final which will be played at Huntingdon Town on Monday, May 11.
