There was early action in Bourne Town’s 2-1 away defeat to Thrapston Town in the UCL Division One on Saturday.

The Wakes took the lead in the first minute through Tyler Sculthorpe who sped onto a through ball to beat the home goalkeeper Liam Fox to the ball and then finish neatly.

Bourne had the worst possible preparations for the game as lost both Kieran Blanchard and Andrew Moss during the farm up, the later feeling too ill to play and Blanchard twisting his ankle.

Despite that Bourne took their lead into the break at Chancery Lane but they didn’t keep it for long in the second half.

Lloyd Buckby equalised five minutes after the interval and then just when Bourne looked to be heading home with a share of the points Jack Wisniewski struck a Thrapston win seven minutes from time.

Despite the loss Bourne remain in sixth spot in the league. Next the Wakes travel to 10th place Long Buckby this Saturday.
