Stamford boxer Craig Brewin will be fighting on the Vicious Promotions bill at the Bowlers Exhibition Centre in Manchester
Stamford boxer Craig Brewin is aiming to build on a fantastic response to news of his first professional fight by attracting a strong following of support from the town.
Brewin is fighting on the Vicious Promotions bill on Friday, August 20, at the Bowlers Exhibition Centre in Manchester.
It will be his first fight since turning professional this year and Brewin is hoping as many people as possible will make the trip to Manchester.
He said: "I have had a very good response since I received news of the date, especially as the fight is on a Friday night and in Manchester so people may have to book time off work.
"It's been fantastic and amazing but I want to push on still further because I think I can do better.
"I'm quite well-known around the town and to get around 200 people from Stamford at the show would be fantastic.
"I would love as much of the town to get behind me as possible. I haven't heard of many professional boxers come out of Stamford and it will be a great thing for the town.
"It's massive to be fighting at the BEC Arena on my professional debut and I'm really looking forward to it.
"I can't wait because it's been such a long process with medicals and licences due to the pandemic but it's all systems go now and I just want to get out there and fight."
Brewin has been put through his paces in his training schedule by coach Tommy Martin and Stamford Boxing Club's head coach Mark Atherton ahead of next month's bout and is relishing making his professional bow.
He added: "I have been training five days a week with good solid work-outs and I'm picking up the pace now with what we're doing in longer sessions.
"Sparring will be a bit more intense as well and there's just a few little bits to go over so we're ready for the big fight as we want to do everything properly.
"My coach has said that I need to take to it slowly in the fight and use the pressure at the right times.
"You're going to be excited with it being your first fight but I have to stick to a game-plan because this is the real deal.
"I need to show professionalism and be relaxed so that I can get the job done."
Brewin is the part of the bill which is headlined by Marcus Morrison who fought Chris Eubank Jnr in his last outing.
Other fighters appearing include Callum Thompson, Sion Yax, Connor Lynch, Gerome Warburton and Alex Dilmaghani.
The event at Trafford Park in Stretford starts at 7pm and tickets are priced at £45 (bronze), £65 (silver) and £85 (gold).
