Burghley Park Cricket Club launch fundraising appeal after event cancellation

Burghley Park Cricket Club has launched a fundraising appeal following the cancellation of the most popular event in their calendar.

The club's annual cricket week and sixes tournament has been cancelled for the first time since its inception in 1959 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

It is the flagship fundraising event for the Stamford club which is managed and run by a committee of volunteers who would have been using the income which it generated to renovate their historic pavilion.
