As Christmas fast approaches there is little cycling racing action taking place. However, ever dependent Bourne based Jason Burrill tackled his first ever cyclo cross event and not only won his class but finished second overall in the four hour endurance race in Thetford Forest.

Burrill has had an amazing season with Peterborough Cycling Club and is looking forward to a competitive 2016 especially as the team has been strengthened with the signing of former Masters British and World Champion Malcolm Smith.

The club’s annual prize presentation is scheduled for February 12 with guest speaker being the recently retired Rotherham based professional, the prolific winning Dean Downing.

The venue will be the Fleet Complex in Old Fletton but next year sees the format going back to the days of an evening show with smarter dress required.

Ironically Dean’s last professional team was the London based JLT Condor squad the new team of Bourne based professional Steve Lampier who is currently training in New Zealand.
