A cricket club is calling on supporters and players past and present to help raise the final funds needed for a new pavilion.
Construction on the new building at Uffington Cricket Club’s ground in Greatford Road is well underway.
The committee has already raised enough for the structure itself through a range of sponsored activities and events. But a further £5,000 is needed for the interior.
To try to hit the final target, the club has launched a buy-a-brick campaign. People can pay a minimum of £20 to get their name added to a plaque on the wall of the finished pavilion.
Fundraiser Dean Cornish, who took part in a five-day, 500-mile sponsored cycle as part of the project, said: “It’s a great way to feel part of the club.”
The buy-a-brick campaign has only recently been launched but already more than £1,000 has been raised.

The pavilion is due to open on May 10.
