Stamford Lions defeat FC Hammers to progress in the Lincolnshire Junior Cup

Stamford Lions progressed to the second round of the Lincs Junior Cup after a Declan Carr penalty in extra-time clinched a 4-3 victory at Boston League side FC Hammers on Saturday.

Lions had twice trailed before taking a 3-2 lead into the final five minutes of the first round tie when Hammers equalised with a late leveller before Carr kept his cool in extra-time to secure their first win of the season.

The visitors were struggling early on in the match against a physical Boston side on a small and boggy pitch.
