Champions struggle while Market Deeping move to third

Bourne failed to reignite their Lincolnshire ECB Premier League defence against this year’s leaders, Bracebridge Heath on Saturday.

Charlie Hopkins took four wickets as the 2010 champions limited Bracebridge to 136 at the Abbey Lawn, but Bourne struggled with the bat, making just 121 as, once again, they failed to match decent bowling and fielding with the bat.

Market Deeping meanwhile continue to be one of the season’s surprise packages, moving back up to third in the table, albeit thanks to a victory against bottom-side Nettleham where Lee Peacock took five for 66.

Bourne will be away at struggling Woodhall Spa on Saturday while Market Deeping host Skegness.
