Cottesmore Amateurs showed their win last week in the Leicestershire Senior League Premier Division was no fluke with a good 3-1 victory away at Rothley Imperial on Saturday.

Cottesmore had a superb first half and got the goal their dominance deserved. The breakthrough came 25 minutes in when Jordan Smith finished a Luke Smith cross after Andre Fontura, who turned down a move to Oakham United last week, had broken down the wing.

Amateurs battered the home defence at times but could not add to their tally before the break.

They were made to pay for it early in the second half as well when Zak Ginvert equalled for Imperial.

However John Love was to have the final say. First he finished a long clearance to put Cottesmore ahead again and in the final minute of the match he powered a header home from a great corner delivery from Jordan Smith.

The win moves Amateurs up to 10th place.
