MARKET Deeping beat Bourne by four runs to win the Stamford Charity Cup, played at STamford on THursday evening.

Bourne needed a six off the final ball but managed just a single to finish just short of Deeping's 131-6.

Ali Sharp (33), Jamie Morgan (30) and David Gillett (24no) were Deepings' top scorers while Ben Stroud claimed 2 for six from his three overs.

Stroud then hit an unbeaten 28 as Bourne chased Deeping's tally. Will Edwards top-scored with 32 for Bourne, who travel to Outgang Road this afternoon for the two sides' Lincolnshire Premier League tie.

Bourne earned a winning draw against Deeping earlier this season but with both sides in need of a victory Deeping will be keen to complete a double over Bourne in the space of three days.

This afternoon's match starts at 12.30pm.
