Motleys played a 20/20 against the Optimists and the Optimists scored 97-9 with Jervis and Nation both retiring on 25 but with John Hitch ripping out the heart of their batting with two overs, three for seven
Motleys replied with 98-4 with Hussein making 25 retired and Mitchell and Sean Patchett seeing them home with 13 and 19 not out respectively.
In another thriller, Motleys were edged out against Lord Kings XI on Sunday.
The opposition scored 125 off 35 overs after Tom Patchett clean bowled four batsmen to finish with four for 32 off nine overs.
Tom then tried to single-handedly win the game by smashing his maiden senior 50.
However, incessant rain throughout their innings contributed to a Motley collapse and they fell six runs short, bowled out for 119 with two overs left with Chris Mitchell left stranded on 11 not out.
