Things were hotting up in Rutland League on Sunday as Division One table-toppers Uppingham came a cropper at Bourne as they chased a victory target of 167.

Sam Evison took 5-5 as Uppingham were all out for 109.

Lewis Bruce was in devastating form for Peterborough Town yesterday as they beat Oundle in Rutland League Division One by 35 runs.

The Saturday first XI skipper took 7-19 off 8.2 overs as Oundle were dismissed for 144 in pursuit of Peterborough’s 179-9, of which Bruce made 39.

Wisbech’s hopes of narrowing the gap on Uppingham suffered a setback at Nassington where they lost by 46 runs while March overcame Market Overton by 15 runs.

Star of the show for March was Callum Young, who took 7-33 off 12 overs
