Burghley Park Cricket Club stage Kidz Blast festival
Burghley Park’s Cricket Week began on Sunday with its annual Under 9s cricket festival, run by their junior committee.
Fourteen teams from across the area took part from a variety of different clubs including Burghley Park, Stamford Town, Ketton Sports, Oakham and Market Deeping.
More than 120 children took part in the fun day with three games of kwik cricket running in a festival style format from 9.30am-4pm.
Peterborough Town were overall runners and Market Deeping runners-up.
Chris Armstrong, head of junior cricket at Burghley Park, commented: "We are always so pleased to start our annual cricket week with Kidz Blast.
"The day is all about kids having fun. For us the aim of the day is to get children of all abilities smiling and enjoying cricket."
