Bourne Cricket Club stages Hodgkinson Cup event





The Hodgkinson Cup cricket week returns on Monday from 6pm at the Abbey Lawn with the current holders Bourne Rugby Club taking on Bourne Cricket Club Colts.

There are three games per evening with the semi-finals and final from the two groups played on Friday.

Additionally on Thursday, Bourne Colts will play the Lincolnshire Over 60s in a day match, followed on Friday with a Bourne XI playing LGR Huntingdon in a highly competitive fixture at 11am.

LGR are a recently established club, providing a pathway for Indian cricketers to develop in this country.

Along with the cricket, the club will be hosting a barbecue, raffle (top prize is a PlayStation 5), with the bar open each evening as the club truly want to showcase its role as a pillar in the community.

Harry Bower, one of the event organisers, said: "It's great to welcome back so many local clubs and businesses year on year for such an incredible community event, showcasing not just the quality of cricket Bourne enjoys, but also the ground it is played on."
