UPPINGHAM’s Will Cropper smashed a magnificent 250 as Town cruised to another massive winning margin in the Northants League on Saturday.
Town are too strong for the majority of Division 13 teams and followed up a 212 run victory against Burton a week earlier with an even more emphatic win at home against Grendon and Prims 2nd XI on Saturday.
Uppingham strolled to a 221 run victory after winning the toss and electing to bat first on what a looked a dream wicket for batsmen.
Opener Will Cropper was merciless, hitting 16 sixes and 20 fours during a destructive innings and Harry Robertson batted well to score 82 in his first senior game for Uppingham this season.
Uppingham finished on 370 for 4 with Ryan Rayment the only bowler to take wickets, finishing with figures of 12.1-0-90-4.
Grendon started their innings quickly with opener Matt Virgin hitting a swift 39 but he proved to be the top scorer of the innings and Grendon were bowled out for just 149.
Scott Green was the pick of the Uppingham bowlers with figures of 13-6-32-5.
Uppingham skipper Danny Dumford said: “It was a pleasure to watch Will score 250 runs and break the record of the highest runs scored at Caste Hill.”
Uppingham’s next Northants League match is against Bold Dragoon on August 11.
