Tuncay Korkmaz had no complaints after his Deeping Rangers side went down 4-1 away at Newport Pagnell on Saturday in the UCL Premier Division.

He admitted Newport Pagnell Town were the better team and deserved maximum reward.

Deeping boss Korkmaz said: “They scored some cracking goals. Overall we had a few spells but we couldn’t get back into the game.

“But out target of a top-eight finish has not changed and we are still on course.

“We need another three wins from our last eight games to reach 60 points.”

Josh Crawley put Newport into an early lead then Scott Mulkern struck twice before David Burton-Jones replied for Deeping after 69 minutes.

Newport’s victory was sealed by Dom Lawless five minutes from the end.

Deeping will be looking to bounce back in Tuesday night’s trip to Peterborough Northern Star before facing leaders AFC Rushden & Diamonds at the weekend.

Deeping: Bircham, Flack, Smith, Tinkler, Braithwaite, Burton-Jones, Carter (Sparrow), Ginty, Goldson-Williams, Hamid (Wright), Avis.
