Round-up of Saturday's cricket action in the Leicestershire League

Ketton Sports made it three wins out of three in Division Four East of the Leicestershire League after a 69-run derby victory over Oakham 2nds on Saturday.

Jacob Miller made 63 and Jonny Smith struck 43 as Sports posted 185-9 from their 45 overs after batting first.

Darren Jones (2-35), Devarsh Shah (2-65), Stephen Wright (2-27) and Will Stuart-Jones (2-9) all bagged a brace of wickets for Oakham.

Jones then top-scored with 33 while Shah struck 29 as Oakham were bowled out for 116 in their reply.

Smith was the pick of the home attack with 3-13 from six overs and was given good support by Mat Bird (2-23), Zak Treweek (2-33) and Raavi Patel who struck twice without a conceding a run in his three overs.

A maiden win of the top flight season continues to elude both Oakham and Uppingham Town after they fell to third successive defeats on Saturday.

Oakham were beaten by five wickets in their home Premier Division clash with Lutterworth at the Lime Kilns.

They made 231-7 after batting first with Charlie Hurley hitting 78 for the Rutland side who were also boosted by Cameron Flowers (39) and Shaun Morris (41no).

Morris then took 3-46 from 10 overs as Oakham had their visitors in trouble at 67-4.

However, excellent middle order efforts from Michael Turns (70no), Jarrad Pickering (38) and William Blockley (50no) saw Lutterworth to victory in the 45th over.

Uppingham fell short in their pursuit of victory after being beaten by 55 runs at Barrow Town.

They had bowled their hosts out for 222 as Scott Green grabbed 3-23 and Mohamed Iqbal took 3-48.

However, Uppingham could only muster 167-9 in their reply with Liam Geddie top-scoring after making 38.

Market Overton are still looking to get off the mark in Division Five East after a six-wicket loss at Melton Mowbray.

Marko were bowled out for 139 after batting first with opener Charlie Watt making 37 and Tim Wilford unbeaten on 33.

Max Bauer took 2-34 while there was a wicket apiece for Henry Sandwell and Nathan Adams but Melton secured the win in 27 overs with Carel Fourie finishing unbeaten on 97.

A fine bowling display helped Uppingham Town 2nds to victory in their Division Six East match with Birstall Village 2nds.

The visitors were dismissed for 84 as Kevin Webster took 4-31 and Charlie Cox 3-6 for Uppingham.

Despite losing six wickets in their run chase, an unbeaten 19 from the experienced Colan Bartram guided Uppingham home.

Nick Kennett and Adam Renton both claimed three wickets apiece as Ketton Sports 2nds were beaten by 66 runs at Whetstone 2nds in Division Eight East.

Whetstone had made 173-9 from their 40 overs after batting first before bowling Sports out for 106 despite Dave Walpole hitting an unbeaten 41.

Jonny White was in fine form with both bat and ball as Wakerley and Barrowden were 118-run winners against Fleckney Village in Division Nine East.

White whacked seven fours and five sixes in a rapid 75 as Barrowden made 238-5 from their 40 overs.

Chris White was unbeaten on 53 at the close while Nick Farrer struck 30 with Pete Vernon and Ben Farrer both adding 27 to the visitors' total.

Fleckley were restricted to 120-8 in their reply as Jonny White took 3-14 from 10 tight overs while Nick Farrer provided solid support with 3-32.

Oakham 3rds conceded their derby duel with Uppingham 3rds.
