Bourne Town boss Rob Middleton leaves United Counties League club

Bourne Town have parted company with manager Rob Middleton.

The Wakes made the decision on the back of Saturday's 2-1 away reversal at Holwell Sports which was their fourth successive United Counties League Division One defeat of the new campaign.

Middleton, who took sole charge of the club early last season following the departure of co-boss Leigh Porter, had seen his side fail to pick up a point following their first four games of the league campaign.

They also suffered a 6-0 away defeat at Harrowby United in the Kitman UK KO Cup on Tuesday night.

A club statement said: "Bourne Town have made the difficult decision to part ways with first team manager Robert Middleton.

"We would like thank 'Middi' for all he has done last season and the start of this and wish him all the best for the future.

"Our committee will meet this week to decide on an interim plan for this weekend and discuss what we do next."

The Wakes are next in action on Saturday when they host Premier Division neighbours Sleaford Town in the FA Vasee.
