Round-up of the opening action in the Rutland League
Tom Dryden struck a super century as Oakham got their Rutland League campaign off to a winning start on Sunday.
Dryden smashed 13 fours and six sixes in his 106 not out off just 64 deliveries as Oakham defeated Stamford by six wickets in the Division Two tussle at the Lime Kilns.
Stamford had batted first and were dismissed for 232 as Joe Stafford returned 4-42 from his nine over spell.
Alex Birch blasted 12 boundaries in his 63 for Stamford while fellow opener Lewis Spice was also prolific with 10 fours in his 53.
Muhammad Chaudhary cracked four fours and a six in his 30 before the Stamford charge wilted in the lower half of their batting.
Opener Fergus Cato made 24 for Oakham before Dryden took charge with a big-hitting innings.
He was given sterling support by Will Begy (36) and Tim Kenyon (44no) as Oakham passed their target inside 28 overs.
Hamish Bell was in brilliant form for Ufford Park as his 159 not out helped them to a 41-run over visiting Werrington.
Ram Bapodra also blasted 54 and Ross Keymer made 21 as Ufford amassed 306-4 from their 45 overs.
Sandeep Dahiya then delivered 4-43 from his nine overs as Werrington were bowled out for 265 despite an unbeaten half-century from Ayoub Khattak.
Uppingham were awarded the points in their Division Two opener with Bourne who conceded the clash while Nassington did likewise in their Division Three game against Werrington 2nds.
Ufford Park 2nds made it a double-winning opening weekend for the club as they defeated Long Sutton 2nds by 132 runs in Division Four East.
Jonathan Bigham hit a half-century with Nigel Cole (21), Peter Taylor (26) and Tim Hawkins (22) also among the runs as Ufford made 197-8 from their 40 overs.
Damian Willett and Jan Neville then took four wicket hauls each as Sutton were dismissed for 65 in their reply.
Willatt took 4-14 from eight overs which included three maidens while Neville claimed 4-17 in his seven over spell.
Uffington 2nds also enjoyed a winning start as they defeated Moulton Harrox by seven wickets.
They bowled out their hosts for 104 as Will Fry returned an economical 3-11 from 7.2 overs that featured three maidens.
John Burton claimed 3-25 and Colin Miles 2-16 while there was a wicket apiece for Steve Moody and Ben Jennings.
James Saralis then led the Uffington charge to victory with an unbeaten 42 while Dean Cornish cracked 24 as the win was sealed in 24 overs.
Market Deeping 2nds were on the wrong end of a 92-run reversal when they hosted their Castor counterparts.
Connor Parnell hit an unbeaten 72 as Castor made 207-4 from their 40 overs with Ben Rae, Alex Green, Adam Muspratt and Joe Pearson all picking up a wicket apiece for Deeping.
The hosts were then restricted to 115-8 from their 40 overs with Green (18) and Matt Simpson (17no) their leading scorers.
