Endowed School juniors compete at nationals

Stamford Junior School Under 9s team competed in their very first National GISGA Premier 5 piece Championships which were held at The Blue Coat School in Birmingham.

The team had made real improvements in training in the run up to this prestigious event and they surpassed all expectations by finishing in a very creditable 9th place. At the same venue, the U10 and U11 teams competed in the National GISGA 2 piece competition in order to qualify for their Premier Championships in March.

The Under 10s finished in 6th place, earning themselves medals and a place in the Premier championships. The Under 11 team, once again showed their talent following on from their success at the recent IAPS Nationals, to finish in 2nd place and also qualifying for the main championships.

An individual mention must go to Nicole Doody-Velasquez who finished 10th in the U9 Championships and to Rachel Harte who finished 5th in the U11 2-piece.

However, the day belonged to Isabella Plant who was crowned U11 National 2 – piece Champion.
