Three players have departed the Daniels ahead of Saturday's crunch Evo-Stik League Division One East clash with Morpeth Town.

Summer signings Taron Hare and Cleveland Taylor have both moved to Premier Division side Matlock Town who appointed former Gainsborough and Spalding boss Dave Frecklington as their new manager this week.

Club stalwart Jordan Smith has also decided to call time on his distinguished career at the Zeeco Stadium due to family reasons.

Manager Graham Drury explained: "I'd like to say a massive thank you for Jordan for what he has done for the club.

"He's been with me at three different clubs. He's been my skipper because he's such a leader.

"He's a top bloke who will be missed at the club.

"Taron and Cleveland both have the chance to step up a division and I know they will smash it.

"They are two top players and lads who I'd like to wish all the best."

Defender Hare joined the Daniels in the close season from North Ferriby while midfielder Taylor had been with Coalville Town last term.

Smith first signed for the Daniels at the start of the 2012 season and, after spells with Boston United and Corby, returned again in 2013.

After going on to make more than 250 appearances for the Daniels, he joined Drury's coaching team during the summer.
