Cottesmore Amateurs 4 Highfield Rangers 2

COTTESMORE Amateurs ended their campaign on a high after once again putting in a superb second half performance after a poor first half.

Amateurs were two down at the midway stage of Monday’s tie against Highfield Rangers but, like in many games this season, they came out a different side in the second half.

Neil Duncan reduced the arrears from the penalty spot early in the second period and top scorer Seb Archer-Fern then levelled after a terrific pass from Duncan.

Rob Lewin put Amateurs ahead with a simple close range finish before Danny Bomken added the gloss, heading home a corner towards with minutes left.

Cottesmore boss Steve Duffy said: “I think I’ll have to get the lads playing 45 minutes before kick off next season. We seem to take a half to get going.”
