Bels collecting vital points

STAMFORD Bels’ revival continued on Saturday with a 1-1 draw at Hampton Sports.

Bels, who were bottom of the table at the start of the month have picked up seven points from their last three matches.

Sean O’Donnell was on target for Bels who will seek to extend their unbeaten run at Sawtry tomorrow.

KETTON adapted best to a tiny pitch, going three up before conceding a late consolation on Saturday.

Johnny Holmes opened the scoring after the break, reacting quickest when the Powerleague keeper spilled an Ian Marsh free kick. Alex Griffin made it two running through to pick up a ball over the top and Paul Richardson capitalised on a similar pass to make it three.

Joint manager Alex Griffin said: “We were three nil up and got lazy. Our keeper wasn’t very pleased.”

KETTON Reserves took local bragging rights over Stamford Bels Reserves on Saturday.

Aaron Young bagged twice in the first half, reflecting Ketton’s dominance of the game. Tom Sheppard added a third after the break before Daniel Szymanski capped a fine personal performance with a fantastic strike.
