Blackstones will play a reserve side in the United Counties League next season the Stamford club has announced this morning

The held its monthly meeting yesterday and secretary Ian MacGillivray said: “The meeting decided that it would be a disaster to disband the reserve team. Without it during the last three turbulent months the club would have folded.”

The club has undergone a turbulent few months with the departures of the chairman and first team management but officials at the club believe it is “back on the right track”.

Derek Hall has stood down as acting chairman and Mr MacGillivray added: “Now that the club has steadied itself with a new manager and several new players, he feels that the club must now appoint a more permanent person who has the energy and time to devote to Blackstones FC.”

Mr Hall will continue as match secretary.

Blackstones are also seeking sponsors ahead of the 2013-14 season. For details call Ian MacGillivray on 01780 762232.
