Bourne and Blackstones lose in UCL Division One

Have your say

Bourne Town Football Club continued their poor run of form in the UCL Division One with a 5-2 home loss to Northampton Spencer on Saturday.

The Wakes lie 20th in the league after the result but will look to get on track when they travel to Burton Park Wanderers on Tuesday night. Kick off is at 7.45pm.

Bourne remain one place above local rivals Blackstones, who were beaten 4-1 at Lutterworth after going down to 10 men with 20 minutes left to play.

Tom Davies, who hit the Stones’ goal, was shown red after blocking the ball in the penalty area with his arm.

The dismissal and resulting penalty was a double blow for Stones manager Gary Peace who was forced to select midfielder Chris McRoyall in goal from the start with usual keeper John Swales missing due to work commitments.

Stones trail Bourne one place in the league in 21st spot.

Next up for Blackstones are Buckingham Town at home at Lincoln Road on Saturday. Kick off 3pm.
