Cottesmore expect to name boss within days

COTTESMORE Football Club are expected to announce their management team within the next few days as plans are taking shape for next season at Rogues Park.

Manager Steve Duffy told the club at the end of last season that he would step down if a suitable replacement could be found, and the club has confirmed that it has received several applications.

Cottesmore secretary Allan Westray said: “The club are currently busy sifting through applications received in their quest to review the managerial set-up at the club.

“It is hoped we will reach a decisionwithin the next few days.”

The club, which plays in the Leicestershire Senior Football League plans to field two senior sides and an U18 team in the Leicestershire Midweek League, with matches usually on Wednesdays.

Pre-season training begins on Saturday, July 1, with a series of friendlies in the pipeline. Training sessions are open to any players interested in joining the club.

Oakham United FC

OAKHAM United will begin pre-season training on Saturday on the former Rutland Sixth-Form playing fields on the Barleythorpe Road.

Training starts at 10am for senior and U18 players and 1st team joint manager Andy Saddington said new players are welcome to join sessions.

United will train each Saturday during pre-season as well as one evening each week (details to be confirmed) before the start of their Peterborough and District League campaign on August 11.
